Chance Me

2.9 gpa

19 on the act

-4 years of Basketball

-2 Years of Football

4 years English
4 Years Math
4 Years Social Studies
2.5 Years of Science
2 Years of foreign language

I live in the state of Michigan.

I would say it would be difficult for you to get into UMass. Many applicants who are in-state will have had 4 or more years of both science and a foreign language.

weighted gpa is 3.3

Are you being recruited? That would up yours odds a lot.

Your test scores are well below the 25th percentile. Are you going to take them again? If you can boost your score a bit I think it will really help your chances.

According to the UMass web site you need 3 years of science: [UMass Amherst: Undergraduate Admissions - Freshman Requirements](http://www.umass.edu/admissions/application_process/Requirements/)

You’ll have to contact the school to see how firm a requirement this is.

yes im retaking my act in september.

how do you have more than 4 years of science or foreign language??

foreign language: starting a foreign language in middle school
science: taking more than one science class in a year. For example, I took both biology and chemistry during my sophomore year

There is really no reason to go to Umass if you are out of state, especially if you aren’t applying to one of the “good” programs (engineering, science, Journalism, Buisness, English).

Also, depending on your intended major and which school within the university you “apply to”, you might achieve different results. Some schools are significantly less selective. However, once you are in the school, mobility between most majors is usually a breeze.
