Here is the problem with “Chance Me” threads. No one really knows how the whole process is going to unfold. My D’s GPA was higher than yours, but her ACT was about equal or a little lower to your SAT score. We didn’t think think that she had much of a chance, but one of the admission officers who read her application saw something in her that they thought would be a good match for the school and she was accepted EDII. I would say that when your stats are little low, like yours, that you really need to make your case that you belong at the schools through your essay and teacher recommendations. Scripps really tries to be holistic in its approach to admissions.Hope this helps. Good luck!

Thank you

I hope Scripps will disregard my gpa because of the rep my high school has. Thank you for giving your advice! It was helpful and dispelled some of my fears.

I think that the HS that you attend carries alot of weight. The Admission Counselors know that a 3.4 from a really tough HS can be the same as a much higher GPA from one from other schools that are not as challenging. I know for certain that the admission officers at Scripps review each application with great care looking for a right fit. So don’t worry. This “thing” called admissions is a great mystery and it looks like your application has a lot going for it. best of luck to you!
