chance me?

this is my first choice school and i applied ea.

my gpa is kinda low 2.8 unweighted but i have a 1270/1600 and 1980/2400 on my sat. my school is known for being very difficult and i’ve taken an above average courseload with many honors and a few ap classes

i’m a two sport varsity player
lots of volunteer work at local community centers as well as other countries
i started my own website that features my photography and interviews with bands
ive done internships that also have to deal with the music business

i basically just summed some stuff up (i had more on my actual app) but i’d really appreciate knowing what everyone thinks

i hope you have a shot… cuz im close to that.

A high SAT won’t necessarily make up for a low GPA, especially at a school as competitive as Northeastern. I would say that Northeastern is a high reach for you, but still possible. If you are a recruited athlete, though, your chances would go way up.

Good luck  Decisions should be out soon (as early as next week)!

i’m not planning on playing sports in college, maybe just club level. and yeah my gpa is the only thing that’s really hurting me which sucks cause thats a huge part of how they make their decision. and 1st quarter i got an unweighted 3.5 but idk if they look at 1st quarter grades

Well, they’ll look at first quarter grades if you submit them. It would help you, that’s for sure.

Your gpa is well below averages and your scores are average. This is a big reach and one semester of grade improvement will not help. I would say less than or equal to 10 percent.

maine, your SAT score is good. It’s in the middle 50% so be thankful you did well on that. As people stated, your GPA is where your application falls flat, so there is no denying it, Northeastern will be a reach. But it is NOT impossible to get into Northeastern with a GPA that low. You still have some chance left, and I heavily advise you submit your first quarter grades if you can, because if they check out those grades, at least they’ll know you’re improving. It will not hurt you to submit them - it will only help. Good luck.
