Chance Meh! CMU is my top choice college

I am a Kenyan male interested in majoring in Computer Science.(SCS)
I’d like to have a rough view of my chances of being accepted
I am an international student

97 Weighted Average
91 Unweighted

8 Total High School math classes, including AP Computer Science and Differential Equations
5 Total APs and 3 Honors classes
scored 5s and 4s on the APs

SAT:
2020 Superscore
740 Math
640 CR
640 Writing

Subject Tests:
700 Math 1
700 Physics

ECs
President of Science Olympiad and FIRST Robotics
Board member of 3 other clubs
I love debating (JSA whaddup)
A bunch of community service
Learned Java, BASIC, C++, a bit of Python and HTML

SCS is extremely competitive and i have meager academics. I’m also interested in Engineering though.

Not to seem politically incorrect- are you Black? If so, slamp dunk-- easy you got the stats and you are a desired asset in terms of diversity (sorry if that sound tacky)! There’s a terrible shortage of URMs at SCS - and being Black and a Kenyan is very attractive. A white Kenyan -hard to tell - lots of qualified white and asian males applying to SCS.

Best of luck to you! You have the stats- -but so do a few thousand others. You just never know why some are admitted and some are rejected. Apply!

You lost me though-- you’re Kenyan but in FIRST – so you must reside in US?

Yes I’m black, and yes I’m Kenyan, and yes I reside in the US…I’m on visa.
I’ve been in the US for 2 years.

And I just wanted to know, what’s in it for the college if they have a diverse campus?

Oops…I had double posted

-2070 sat/29 (waiting on scores to come back could go up) act
-african, oos, female
-13 IB classes/full IB Diploma
-amazing EC’s (foreign language classes in other countries, service projects in 3rd world countries, etc)
-3.74 w gpa
-great recs
-650 on Math 1 and Lit SAT II’s

applying to HSS at CMU, CHANCES???
