well im an indian too but i live in india, not us. i find your boyfriend’s score quite reasonable. he should do fine. im not sure about cornell though. my cousin is in cornell but he has a hell lot of ECs at his disposition. and when i say hell lot i mean it.

Cornell and Notre Dame are the ones I’m most familiar with and I would say they’re all high reaches. His SAT and SAT IIs are all lower than average, and it doesn’t help that he is considered an Asian. I’m pretty sure he has to apply internationally, which also makes it harder for those schools to get in. Additionally, his ECs are kind of minimal - just sports, which a lot of kids can say they did. The exception to this that might help him is that he can say he didn’t have the chance to participate in a lot of ECs, depending on when he moved to the US (high school?).

Also, if English is his second language, then he can indicate that somewhere on his application and that would perhaps make his standardized test scores more impressive.

thanks guys! and yup he mentioned that english is his third language on the application! does anyone else have any insight! come on guys :)

english- third language…what!!! you see im an indian(living in india…lol) but even my first language is english. sorry i dont wanna be rude or something.

@akashdip, his dad is a ship engineer and he lived on ships growing up with people who mostly spoke bengali and hindi, therefore he learned those first.

He just got his new SAT scores today! He got a 2070 now.
