<p>So my friend thinks that he’s got a good shot at U of Michigan and Stanford, what do you guys think?</p>

SAT Comp= 2270</p>
<p>EC= President of Student Council for 1 year, track for 3 years, soccer 3 and that’s it. </p>
<p>Verdicts?</p>
<p>Oh, he’s also black and in NY</p>
<p>And he wants to do engineering</p>
<p>He’s not going to those places with that GPA.</p>
<p>Not with that GPA. That tells admissions officers that he’s capable of doing very very well, but he chooses not to, which is almost worse than a bad gpa and a bad SAT. He’ll get terrific merit aid at state schools with that score though</p>

Some people can do very well on standardized testing that doesn’t correspond to their GPA, therefore he cannot get in with that GPA</p>
