Here’s hoping it’s the first of many great offers!
Got another admit email today, Software Engineering at San Jose State University.
2/2 till now.
Congratulations on 2 great offers so far!
With 3.93/4.21 capped, I think you’ll be seeing multiple other acceptances as well. Good luck!
We applied strategically looking at his GPA. That’s why we didnt apply for CS at SJSU.
I checked last year impaction scores at cal Poly Pomona and SJSU before applying.
Got admission to UC Merced for Computer Science & Engineering.
Did not get in on UCSC first list for CS, I know CS is tough in any UC, we will wait for March 15/17 when the 2nd list comes out.
Have 3 admit decisions now.
Waitlisted at Davis for CS.
Good luck! CS is so competitive, but last year it did seem like there was a lot of waitlist movement.
The last ones he is waiting on are UCB and SLO, both for MechE? (If I understand your previous posts correctly?)
Got rejected for CS at UC Irvine
Waiting decisions: For Mechanical Engineering at UC Berkeley, LA and Cal Poly SLO.
Waiting for CS at UC Santa Cruz.
Looks like the first decisions are coming out from SLO…Have you checked the portal today? Good luck!!!
And adding the acceptances:
Cal Poly Pomona: Computer Science
San Jose State: Software Engineering
UC Merced: Computer Science & Engineering
Appreciate the updates. No matter how things turn out with the remainder of the decisions, your son already has 3 great options available to him, and he can only choose 1. Wishing your family the best!
He didn’t get any decision yet from SLO, maybe waitlisted. Fingers crossed
I think there are more acceptances coming…Fingers crossed!
You probably know this but the UCI decision is not surprising. Based on the data I’ve looked at, UCI is a harder admit than Cal for NorCal students. I am sure your son is going to do well with the pending decisions.
He got into UC Santa Cruz for Computer Science.
He got rejected for Mechanical Engineering at UCLA. One major hope is UC Berkeley(March 28th decision day)
We had a family discussion this weekend and eliminated UC Merced and Cal Poly Pomona.
Leaning towards UC Santa Cruz(CS) or San Jose State University(SE).
If UC Berkeley(ME) comes through, it will be the top priority.
Not considering Cal Poly SLO and UC Davis as waitlists may not move.
I can’t wait for 28th to come so we are done with this admission process. His brother at Cal will be home for the spring break when decisions come out and he will help his brother with his final decision.
A lot of us will feel unsettled until UCB comes out.
Seems like if that occurs, then he will have to make the choice between CS/SE and ME.
