<p>I’m an 8th grader applying for 9th. I’m an honor roll student [Grades ranging from only two C’s which were only 79s in advanced classes only, plus the fact that I got a perfect score on the standardized test I took for it, to high A’s], I’m in student council, an award winning poetry writer, avid reader, a member of my school’s top teams for volleyball, basketball, and track. I just made a national level volleyball team outside of school. I also do tennis and swimming outside of school during summer. I play piano and I’m very novice guitar player. I’m also a medal winning singer, outgoing with plenty of friends, and a cultural background straight from Nigeria. What are my chances? What are these schools looking for in an applicant?</p>
<p>Well, I am going to Exeter, but for middle school I went to the Ross School. If you are applying to Andover, Deerfield, Choate, etc., Ross is not in the same category. Sorry if this is bursting your bubble. Also, their boarding program is VERY small and mostly koreans. They do not live in dormitories, they live with teachers in their houses. I don’t know all your stats but you sound motivated and should definitely apply to the other schools. I, however, do not think you will be happy at Ross.</p>
<p>Why do you think so lowly of The Ross School?</p>
<p>Because I went there… and it was really bad… It is a nice school, but very easy and the people there are not very nice. My brother is a senior there this year and if he wasn’t a senior he would have gone to a different school. If you get above the 70 percentile or so on the SSAT you WILL be bored at Ross.</p>
<p>You should consider applying for Exeter.</p>
