<p>I have never posted before, so sorry if I’m doing something wrong.
I am a senior at a public High school in Georgia (it is supposed to be one of the best public high schools in Georgia, but I doubt that really means anything).</p>
<p>Hooks/tips? - URM (Puerto Rican), Leukemia (recently finished almost a year of intensive chemo, thankfully I’m back in school and I managed to keep up with classes home-bound), Aspergers</p>
<p>SAT - 2150 Math - 610 writing - 690 reading - 800 (I’ve taken it once. It was two days after chemo and I didn’t prepare at all, so I feel like I could definitely improve on that. I plan to take lit, world history, and us history sat iis.</p>
<p>Here come the bad ones.</p>
<p>AP - Only one AP, World History (5 on test), but that’s not my fault. World is the only AP my school offers for sophomores, and I couldn’t manage any APs during junior year, as I was at home and sick. I am taking AP lit, Ap US History, and AP European history this year. That is all I could fit in with my messed up schedule. I think I will take the lang, government, psychology, and maybe an econ tests anyway. </p>
<p>GPA - 3.4. Pretty bad. My class ranking makes me depressed. I am only in the top half. I really have no excuse, I am a terrible procrastinator who didn’t think of the future. Bad grades in math (procrastination), computer classes (no fine moter skills), and embarrassingly, Spanish (I have trouble enough pronouncing English words) also brought it down. I really haven’t taken the most rigorous classes either. I hope to improve my GPA this year, as much as I can.</p>
<p>extracurriculars - Only 4-H. I plan to join the young republicans this year (Not to try to shove one on at the last minute, its just something I’m interested in). </p>
<p>My question is, how much will my “hooks” and an attempt to improve this year counteract my low points? What kind of colleges are really even something I should be looking at? I have the same ivy dreams it seems most people on here have, but I already know I’ve messed that up for myself. Also, should I mention Aspergers? Nothing I have read here or elsewhere has been very clear on that. And which AP tests should I study for and take independently? (Definitely taking lang)</p>
