Chance of getting into NYU?

<p>I have to decide whether to submit my admission deposit for another school or take my chances with NYU.</p>

<p>Do you think i have a chance of getting accepted?</p>

  • SAT I (breakdown): 1600, 550W 500M 550RC
  • GPA: 3.3 (Took several Honors Classes)
  • Rank (percentile if rank is unavailable): 134/416
  • Major Awards: Honor Roll (11th, 12th grade), Student of the Month (November).
  • Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis): Photography Club (Co-President), InnerKey club (Member)
  • Volunteer/Community service: Over 75+ hours working at a Food Bank, Women’s shelter, and Creekside Clean-Up</p>

<p>CC Objective

  • GPA: 3.65
  • Units Completed: 62
  • Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis): Oak Leaf Newspaper (Staff Writer)
  • Major Awards: Dean’s List (2 years), Honor Society, Scholarship Recipient for grades
  • Work experience: Hyatt Hotel (25 hours per week/1 year), Starbucks (25 hours per week/June 09-Present)</p>

<p>Application:

  • Essays: I think it’s a strong essay. Discusses my goal of ultimate happiness and leaving behind a legacy. I discuss where i’ve been and where i hope to go.
  • Teacher Recommendation: Great, from Speech Teacher, he helped me out a lot.</p>

<p>You have a stronger resume than I did when I applied, and I got in to MCC. However, I was also applying for spring semester, so take this with a grain of salt. I think you are a competitive candidate.</p>

<p>Getting in is possible. Getting in with enough aid as a low incoome transfer is very unlikely.</p>

<p>NYU is terrible at giving aid. like atrocious. it gave me barely anything as a freshman so i doubt u will get any as a transfer</p>

<p>i would say try to talk with the school and see if they can extend the deadline for ya.</p>

<p>I know NYU is expensive. But, it’s like my dream school! I gotta get in.</p>
