Chance of transferring to NYU?

Hi! I’m in the middle of the transfer process to get in to NYU as a Fall 2015 Transfer student at Steinhardt (MCC).
I will be transferring from a state school in Massachusetts with a 57% acceptance rate, which is pretty high for NYU but is one of the better state schools here in Mass. Since I am a sophomore, I will not be submitting my test scores because they are not required. I know the application is due today, and it probably was not the best to wait till now, I have just been trying to work on my essays for the application and finished everything but that.

High School (class of 2013)
Since I’m a sophomore, I assume they will not look too much into my high school grades, but I know they will definitely look at them. Unfortunately, I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia at 15, among other ailments. I was in and out of hospitals throughout high school for it, and even spent seven weeks at a pain clinic my junior year. Because of the absences, my grades were only in the mostly B’s and some C’s range. However, after told I may not graduate on time, I was determined to catch up and received all A’s my senior year.
3.8 GPA senior year and 3.44 overall (weighted).

Current: (sophmore)
At my current university, I am now doing pretty well considering. However, throughout my entire freshman year (as if there could not have been more obstacles in my life) my grandfather was dying of stage four cancer and fought the entire year, until he passed away at the end of my spring semester. My grades were not as high as they could have been, resulting in a C in one of my spring semester classes. This current school year, I am now doing better, and made the Dean’s list for the first time last semester (Fall 2014).
Fall 2013 GPA: 3.7; Spring 2014 GPA: 3.3, Fall 2014 GPA: 3.76
Cumulative GPA: 3.48

I have also been involved in several extracurriculars.
Last year, I was a general member in our university’s chapter of the AAF, and am now the current Chapter Vice President.
I am also in PRSSA as a general member as of this year.
I held an internship for the Fall 2014 semester, and have held a job for almost four years until I stopped working to focus on internships and school in December 2013.
I am in the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society from my first semester grades, and have stayed a member due to my grades.
I will also be spending my spring break in New Orleans to help rebuild homes lost from Hurricane Katrina.

Sorry this is a bit long, I am just extremely anxious about getting in.

I would say it is a possible match, with a bit of a reach. You have some decent hooks to match your academic record so they should take those into account. You extra-curriculars look decent and will add to your application nicely. However, NYU is a very competitive school, for all majors. Best of luck!

Please chance me back!

NYU is pretty competitive, so the semester you got a 3.3 will hurt you. However you have really good and interesting ECs so those will defiantly help your application. As long as your essays were good, I would say you have a chance.

Can you chance me back for NYU?

Junior transfer from CCC.

Completed all my pre-recs, have my AA in Computer science and Physics. Would have in Astronomy as well but 1 of the classes my college required for the Astronomy AA they never offer, so it’s impossible to actually get the AA.
