How did you do on your AP tests? The school system in the UK is heavily dependent on test grades. As far as I know, your GPA means almost nothing to them. I never personally applied to Oxford, but I did spend a lot of time researching the college system in the UK when I was sending in my application to University of Edinburgh (I graduated high school in 2012).

As far as I can tell, Oxford want 5’s only, and they want at least 5 of them. AP tests here are roughly equivalent to their A levels, and as far as grades on them go, a 5 on an AP test = A, a 4 = B, and a 3 = C. As for your extracurriculars, obviously, they’re amazing, but you can’t get in on them alone if the grades aren’t there.

Also, I believe that their application period for the 2014 school year has already passed. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. :c

Oxford College of Emory, right?

Oxford college of emory?

If so, then I’d call it a low reach to reach because of your SAT score.

Emory Oxford: Reach
Oxford: High reach (regardless of major, or, as Oxford calls it, what one reads - and therefore the college within Oxford)

Huh. Maybe the stuff I thought I knew is wrong. I apologize if so, these people probably know more about what they’re talking about than I do.

I don’t know that much more about Oxford admissions either, other than it’s academics first and ECs second, it demands quite a bit in terms of grades and test scores, and that one’s field determines what colleges within Oxford you will attend…
