chance prediction

At my small high school only one person is applying to an ivy league school. My friend bob the salutatorian decided to apply EA to Yale. It’s ambitious, as our rural northwest school has never sent anyone to Yale before, but he’s a rather ambitious person. I helped out with his application some, and am nervous about what news the next few days bring. As a middle class white guy, bob’s only distinction is that he’s a first generation kid from a rural area. After reading stuff on this forum, I was nervous that he only got a 27 on the ACT. And he didn’t take the SAT II’s. However, we’re counting on an underprivileged background to help out. There is a lot of suspense at school as to whether or not we might send someone somewhere as prestigious as Yale. And the more I read these forums, the more worried I get. I thought I’d never post this, but I can’t help but wonder, does he have at least an average chance come dec. 16? Your professional chances people. All other things being equal, what do you think?

doesn’t yale require 3 sat 2’s?

yeah, but the ACT can be substituted for the SAT taken with 3 SAT II’s.
