Chance @ semi-selective private schools

Hi, I’m Kayla, I am a black female and I live in the north Texas area.

I graduated in May of 2012 but am taking a gap year due to family hardships and the fact that I am a year younger than the class of 2016. My parents divorced December of 2008. This divorce resulted in three years of constant court dates and counseling due to the abusive nature of my father.

I ended high school with a 2.9/4.0, 28 ACT, have received 5’s on the three AP exams I have taken so far and am self-studying at home this year for three more. I took all APs for English and Social Studies and regular courses for science and math. I was the secretary then vice president for my local Rotary Club sponsored Interact Club and organized an Invisible Children showing, awareness campaign at my school. I was actively involved in my school newspaper as the editor in chief. I have led my paper to multiple local, state and national awards. I also have numerous local, state, national and international awards for my writing and photography.

I realize my GPA is very low but I did have an upward trend the last three semester before finishing. I am applying to these schools to enter as a freshman 2013 -

Seattle University
Lake Forest College
Loyola University Chicago
Loyola University Maryland
University of Portland
St. Edward’s University
Whitworth University
Dickinson University

What are the chances of me getting in and receiving any kind of aid? Also, if I would not receive a lot of aid, could someone direct me to any schools that would offer me aid based on my grades or is that too much of a reach?
