Hopeful Business Major

Chance me on:
Upenn (Wharton) and regular
William and Mary
Suny Binghampton
NYU
U of Chicago
LaFayette
James Madison
Georgetown

extreme dedication + compelling story + high-ish SAT (raise them numbers!)=all-around success.
you’ve got 2/3 already, so your doing well.

Upenn (Wharton) and regular–reach. worth applying to.
William and Mary–match-ish
Suny Binghampton–safety
NYU–good shot
U of Chicago–reach
LaFayette–in
James Madison --safety
Georgetown–reach

How did you manage

-4 years Varsity Soccer team (team captain for 3 years, including school’s first ever championship)
-4 years Varsity Basketball team
-4 years Varsity Baseball Team

when you’re only in your junior year of high school?

I am certain I will remain on those teams throughout high school

Aren’t baseball and soccer in the same season?

And why are you putting four years when you have only been playing for two? You say you’re a sophomore?

No, he’s a junior; he’s taking the PSAT next week.

Just the sports I added years to because I will be playing them for sure

baseball–spring
basketball–winter
soccer-fall

if he’s captain that led his team to championship, it does not seem like he will be cut in senior year.

can we focus more on chancing?

Upenn (Wharton) - High reach, virtually no chance
William and Mary - Match
Suny Binghampton - Safety
NYU - High Match/Low Reach
U of Chicago - You shouldn’t apply here; they don’t have an undergraduate business program
LaFayette - Low Match
James Madison - Safety
Georgetown - Low Reach

Anyone know other strong undergrad business programs on the East coast?

If your rank is good, with a 2100 plus and a strong SAT mathII, NYU Stern could work. After that I’d try Michigan, not E. Coast, but do you want a good business school you can get into?

Michigan is most likely too far west…

According to Business Week, great business program schools on east coast:
UVA
Cornell
Villanova
UNC
Miami
Northeastern

reach- Penn, W&M, Chicago, Georgetown

All others a match.

how much would my odds go up if I applied ED or EA?

ED raises chances much more than EA, though EA does help. For Wharton, many many people apply ED, and you still have a long shot for it.
For NYU, its increases your chances a lot.
