Chance This: Early Grad with Unconventional Work Experience

Hello! Thanks in advance for reading my post :)

I graduated with the class of 2009 as a junior. I decided to take the next year to pursue my career as an actress and to give myself a financial boost for college in 2010. After that, it’s back to school for me.

Over the past three years of high school I have worked on and off, sometimes leaving school for two months at a time for roles. I had to work incredibly hard to maintain my grades, speaking with my teachers every day I was gone. I don’t have hardly any extracurriculars as a result… so I hope admissions can see past that.

Anyway, here are my stats:

school: public
sends many grads to top schools

unweighted GPA: 3.86
weighted GPA: 4.4
SAT Reading: 730 (I took these at age 15)
SAT Math: 640
SAT Writing: 710

I’m taking the SAT subject test in November.

AP Environmental Science: 5
AP Art History: 5

Journalism Honors Society
Have lived/worked in Japan, England, Germany, France, Italy, New York

Applying to:

Columbia
New York University
UC Berkeley
Barnard
Maryland - College Park (Safety)
Northwestern
Cornell

UMD=in
NYU=think so
Barnard=good shot
Columbia=reach
N’Western=maybe
Cornell=reach
UC Berkeley= OOS, reach

good luck to you.

that is really cool that your an actress… I am sure this would make up for your lack of ecs if you, especially if you list some of your important roles. I would suggest retaking the SAT to get 2100+ at least. I think you have a shot at your colleges

Thanks guys.
Anyone else?
