Chance this lopsided student

I am the sort of student that many people just assume has pristine grades (I guess I have an intellectual air or something) but my grades are fairly mediocre. I am also very good at the Humanities but awful at math/hard science (as you will observe with my SATs).

GPA: 4.14 weighted out of “4.0+”
Top twenty percent of class
Transcript is split mainly between B’s and A’s. Slight downward trend with two C’s junior year and one C first MP of senior year. C’s in math and chemistry.

Rigor of transcript: I’ve taken 5 AP’s though 4 of them were this (senior) year (actually taking a fairly rigorous senior year sched). I have taken a lot of courses b/c I sacrificed lunch periods and took 0 period gyms, etc. so that I could take electives in classes I was genuinely interested in, such as Journalism and Economics.
AP US History - 4
AP French
AP Env. Sci.
AP Gov’t & Politics
AP Lang. & Comp.

SAT I (second, better sitting):
2190 = CR 800, 590 M, 800 W
SAT IIs:
Literature 760, US History 800

Essay: I’ve been told I am a very strong writer.
Guidance ref: assume good
Teacher references and external reference (Scout leader): seen two and assume all are excellent.

Achievements:
Accepted into NJ Governor’s School (declined to attend b/c of job)
Awarded competitive journalism internship w/ local paper
Placed top seven out of 1,125 entries in essay competition
Eagle Scout

EC’s:
Vice-Pres. of Model Congress club
Boy Scouts (ES, already mentioned, and held highest youth leadership of 45-member unit)
Some community service
Varsity Fencing last/current year
Many other clubs though I’ve been involved in the others inconsistently
Held several jobs (perhaps part of the reason my transcript isn’t stellar)

I’m applying:

Thank you so much to the people that have replied.

One additional question: any chances at scholarships at any of these schools? I’m not as worried about getting in to most of these schools as I am being able to afford them. Unfortunately I am in the middle class trap and I don’t think my grades are impressive enough for academic scholarships.

Thoughts?

I’ve always wondered: is it preferable, from an admissions counselor’s point of view, to have someone well-rounded, or, really good in one subject? So jack-of-all-trades/master of none, or specialized scholar?

For example, would you rather see a 2100 SAT with 700s in each category, or a 2100 with two 800s and a 500?

Similarly, which is better - a B average or an even split between C’s and A’s?

Just an interesting thing to consider.
