<p>However, my accumulated(cumulative) GPA is only a 2.54. The reason for this is that my school starts from 7th grade, its not solely a senior high school and my accumulated GPA consists of GPA’s from 7th grade to now. Unfortunately, through the years I was under a great amount of pressure etc and was not performing to my full potential. Hopefully the upward trend makes it clear to the admissions officer along with my essays.</p>

<p>Based on that data, though, St. Thomas looks like a match. I don’t know about Acadia. For Florida A&M, it seems that state residency is important, so it’s probably a reach.</p>
<p>Actually, St. Thomas only accepts about 28% of applicants–so you are still a slight reach there. The reason they accept so few is that they give very good financial aid packages to those they accept–so quite a few people with similar statistics to yours apply there. </p>
<p>Your odds at Florida A&M are much better–probably a safe match to match. They accept about 85% of the applicants and the test score summaries are close to those of St. Thomas University. </p>
<p>I don’t have the statistics on Acadia University since it is not an American University (it’s in Nova Scotia in Canada). According to their website, however, they specifically cater to students coming from the Carribean–so I would consider your odds of acceptance as quite high.</p>

<p>Reko already asked me about the 91% number. I think collegeboard has it wrong, since the USNW book gives the actual numbers as 903 applied and 249 accepted. I think collegeboard is confusing the St. Thomas University (in Florida) with the University of St. Thomas (in Minnesota). The latter’s acceptance rates are around 91%.</p>
<p>I notice by going to the St. Thomas University’s website that they only have around 3,000 total students–and this includes their transfer applicants and continuing education students–so I’m presuming the USNW to be correct (but, obviously, I’m not positive which one is correct–so maybe Reko should contact the school for actual info)</p>
