<p>3.4 gpa. Engineering major. Aced physics and calc series.</p>

<p>Youth leader of two churches
Extracurricular school age teacher ( 40 hrs a week job)
3 weeks in Sendai japan to assist relief
Medical mission to negros occidental 3 weeks
Mechanic past two summers
Lead guitarist for church band and school band </p>

<p>Lived in Okinawa Japan past three years.
Getting transfer degree from community college.</p>

<p>I also have 4 recommendation letters. Sadly uw doesn't accept them. :/</p>

<p>But...fyi your GPA doesn't look great. I had a friend who tried repeatedly to transfer from a CC with your exact GPA and a great background and never got in. He ended up going to UW Bothell.</p>

<p>@Asolidum, did you take a look at the average GPA for your major?
When I was one of UW's "Transfer Thursdays", an advisor told me that if you get accepter into your major, there is a 99% chance that UW will also accept you. However, if it's the opposite - you don't get accepted into your major, there is a 95% chance you won't get into UW UNLESS you indicated a second-choice major on your application.
I think that your extracir. activities are really good and I hope that UW will take that into account.
