Chance yourself!

@furore including number four? hahaha, if I did get in, I would bring honor to my dynasty…

Just reposting this from other forums. If you’re up for some fun before decisions come out, answer the following:

1) What percent chance do you think you have of being admitted?

94%

2) Why do you think that?

Idk, I have a slight feeling that my numbers are off by quite a bit, but if my calculations are correct, I should be a pretty happy guy come decisions day :).

3) When do you think admissions will be released (date + time)?

Tuesday 3-5:30PM

4) What will you do to celebrate if you get in?

Crank up some Friday by Rebecca Black <3

5) What if you don’t get in?

Well, let’s just say that I’m glad personal hand guns aren’t easily accessible to the general public (:P)

Good luck, everyone!

@ overachiever92

Would you mind sharing what makes you so confident?

(I think he was switching the accept and deny rate just for fun)

1) What percent chance do you think you have of being admitted?

100%

2) Why do you think that?

I slept with everyone on the admissions staff.

3) When do you think admissions will be released (date + time)?

Hopefully tomorrow (wishful thinking).

4) What will you do to celebrate if you get in?

Get ****faced.

5) What if you don’t get in?

Write sad poetry in my journal.

@essceejay: I know that for Stanford, Harvard, and most other top schools, but in a general scope of the top 100 universities in the U.S. Those that are not need-blind seriously factor in ability to pay? Or are almost all such colleges need-blind anyways?

@tetsure

If the school isn’t need-blind, then the ability to pay is a factor. Though, how much of a factor it is varies from school to school.

1) What percent chance do you think you have of being admitted?
20%

2) Why do you think that?

Veteran applicant with good SAT scores/essays

3) When do you think admissions will be released (date + time)?

April 1st, like they said

4) What will you do to celebrate if you get in?

By some t-shirts/represent gear. Hi5 my roommates. Get down on some of that drinkability known as Bud Light. Give praise to the Most High God.

5) What if you don’t get in?

Really hope/pray I get into one of the other schools I applied to.

1) What percent chance do you think you have of being admitted?
No idea.

2) Why do you think that?
Well, my stats aren’t really that great, but I did spend a fair amount of time building those beautiful essays!

3) When do you think admissions will be released (date + time)?
I’m rooting for tomorrow, but hey, who knows? Perhaps this year will be exactly on the 1st!

4) What will you do to celebrate if you get in?
Oh man, I can’t even begin to describe how excited I’ll be. First, I’ll read my email around five more times to make sure it’s sent to the right person and whatnot. Then I’ll scream. Then I’ll cry a little bit, probably. And if it’s tomorrow, then I’ll celebrate with a giant pizza, plenty of phone calls, and blah blah. It’ll just be the greatest moment of my life. :')

5) What if you don’t get in?
Nothing, really. Begin to review my other options/financial aid packages. Dread having to tell people I didn’t get in. Retire my Stanford sweatshirt. But hey, negative thinking is already the first step to failure, right? So I’m hoping for good news!

No, if you start out admitting the possibility of failure, you are positioning yourself for easier coping in the still considerable chance of not getting in.
