Becaue of prop 209 your sex or race won’t matter to UC admissions Your GPA is a little low but your SATs are solid! Excellent work on that CR score BTW!!! They may balance eahother out. You do need two SAT IIs too. Your ecs are solid but what seems to have made a difference this year in UC admissions is the number of A-G courses you have taken beyond the minimum. since that isn’t included in your post, it’s hard to judge. My best advice is to make sure your Sr. courseload includes a-g courses and that you take SAT IIs in courses you feel strong in. I think UC takes the best SAT scores for a single sitting rather than superscoring so if you can take another SAT it may help but if it doesn’t at least you have strong scores to begin with. Good Luck!

from a current admit student…and talking with everyone who has been admitted
good SAT scores…but focus on GPA.
i think 3.4 weighted is required for out-of state unless you do admission by excpetion or ELC( but i doubt your gpa will qualify you for you since your not CA resident)?

hope that helps

^ Yeah. You certainly are qualified to go to UC Merced, but the technicalities might bite you. I know they allow some students with lower than a 3.0 in, but I do not know how nice they are about out of state students. Are you sure you want to pay the out of state fees to go to UCM? People are even debating paying the in-state fees…

Btw, I am pretty sure ELC only is for in-state students.

because MHAM posted underneath uc davis forum…i thought he/she was reffering only to uc davis…riverside/merced definately have exceptions and admit ppl with lower gpa that required ( 3.4 for nonresidents and 3.0 for ca residents) but davis is pretty competetive…with at least 3.5 for a shot…
check out website with complete listing for point system that Davis uses…good luck :)
