Thank you in advance to anyone who takes the time to help!

First of all, you have performed very well in high school, maintaining a 4.0 UW GPA for all 3 years, despite the fact that you’ve taken AP/Honors classes. By the time you graduate, you will have taken 6 AP classes, but keep in mind that many people have many more APs than you do. But that’s okay, if that is all that your school offered and you’ve taken advantage of the opportunities given at your school. Your SAT score of 2270 is outstanding, easily placing you within the Top 1% of the US, and your old composite would be a 1590 (nearly perfect!) — it’s okay if you scored a 680 on the Writing section. You definitely do not need to retake the SAT IMO. Your ECs are pretty decent, and you demonstrate leadership to some extent; however, academic clubs seem to be absent in the mix. Your awards are pretty good, but what stands out of your list is the fact that you qualified for the AIME for 3 times. That is an impressive feat, because the AMCs are very difficult tests. I’ve tried since freshman year to qualify for AIME, and I’ve failed every year (this year I missed by one question because I was stupid enough to get #2 wrong having misread the question … woops). Anywho, enough about me, but this accomplishment will help you alot in admissions.

Overall, you’re a very high performing student with a very good potential in math; you seem to be strongly suited for engineering or even business and economics.

Chances:
Princeton: Reach (It’s a reach for everyone b/c it’s a top Ivy)
UT Austin Business Honors Program: Match (Your SAT is about 160 points above their average on the 1600 scale, and you’ve done very well in school)
UPenn Wharton: Slight reach (It’s an Ivy)
UNC: In
UVA McIntire: Not familiar with McIntire admissions, but I would say SAFETY for general school
Berkeley Haas: Match (GPA is above average, but I don’t know their SAT)
Emory: Match
Notre Dame Mendooza: Match
MIT Sloan: Reach
Cornell: Match
WUSTL: Slight reach/Match for general school, not familiar with busn program

You have 11 colleges listed on your list … I think that you have too many colleges on your list, so I recommend that you eliminate some of the colleges you have listed. They’re all great schools, but you should shorten your list so that you can spend more time on your essays, because admissions will pay careful attention to your essays. Put some time into those essays so that you can be thoughtful with them. I also recommend that you visit campus to explore more about what the school has to offer, more than just looking at US News Report’s Best Colleges Rankings. In case everything goes wrong, you should also apply to Purdue U; you’ll probably score a scholarship in some form if you do apply.

Thank you ab2013! Yes, I am definitely applying to Purdue Engineering and Indiana University…I just forgot them on my list.

About the absent academic clubs, I actually forgot some pretty important ones to me like German Quiz Bowl, Science Olympiad, and Academic Superbowl. Sorry!

About the AIME, it’s ok…I missed #1 on the AMC 12 this year because I added wrong but I still qualified thankfully. I got a 6 on the AIME this year…do colleges care about your score and where would you put that on the application?

Which major do you think would be the best in the long run if I plan on getting an MBA someday?

Industrial Engineering at Purdue, Finance at UT Austin, Finance at UNC Kenan-Flager, Finance at Wharton, Finance at Notre Dame, Financial Engineering at Princeton

very nice, very niiice
You have a very good profile, and it’s helpful to you that you are female

Princeton- engineering: mmm mid reach
UT Austin- business honors program: match
UPenn- Wharton: high match

UVA- business: low match/safety
Berkeley- business: high Match

Notre Dame- business: low Match

EDIT: You should definitely try for Financial Eng at Princeton I would say. Some colleges (like MIT) have a special spot for the AMC on their app.
Some don’t.

Does being out-of-state make it very unlikely for me to get in UT Austin, UNC, UVA, and Berkeley. I know they take only the absolute best OOS applicants.

Anyone else??
