<p>Who’s planning on attending the reception at the Chancellor’s “house”? They have three different days depending on your unit.</p>

<p>I’ll be there. Unless i forget or something really great comes up. But it won’t <em>tear</em> No, the chancellor seems like a great guy. Funny, interesting, physics man . . . so dreamy. Is he Canadian, or did he just teach and live there?</p>

<p>No flip-flops, jeans or hoochie clothes. You don’t have to wear a dress, but definitely don’t dress like you’re from Santa Cruz!</p>

<p>Is it a day or evening event?</p>

  • Blazer or vest is appropriate
  • Flat or low heels
  • Neutral hosiery
  • Belt, scarf, and accessories should remain understated </p>

<p>This seems to conservative for a UC Berkeley reception…</p>

<p>Uhm…wow, I don’t know if I’m just tired/cranky from waking up from an evening nap, but that kinda ticked me off.</p>

<p>I’m in no way the typical hippie child from Santa Cruz. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, but where I live has very little to do with my fashion sense…</p>

<p>haha, don’t be insulted. i didn’t mean it that way. when i went to a professional association conference back east many years ago, i was told not to dress like i am from California. </p>

<p>people outside of California have an image of us all being pinko, liberal, commie, surfers who don’t know how to dress.</p>

<p>Don’t go out and buy something that you will never wear again. Just be conscious that you will be at a reception with the UC Chancellor, and dress appropriately. </p>

<p>It’s all part of growing up…and about your new life as a college student!</p>

<p>i like ‘california comfortable’. i’m all about my flip flops, but then again, i have an immense shoe collection. ill just throw on some low heels and call it a night. </p>

<p>Hmm… I was just wondering… am I the only person who feels a collared shirt looks dumb without a tie? Anyways, you can find me at the reception (with a tie, of course!).</p>
