I’m planning on applying for the Fall of 2008, so I want some pretty blunt (but constructive) opinions:

Stats:
School: George Mason, in Honors Program
Currently: Sophomore, Biology
Cumulative: 3.77 for Freshman year
SATs: I believe 1860/2400, 700 Math 540 verbal
APs 6 courses taken, 3 3’s and 3 4’s
College EC: I think this is where I’m lacking most…I just did hospital work because I wanted to focus on my grades
High School EC: Science Honor Society, History Honor Society, some Community service clubs, but no leadership roles

I want to apply to the following schools (this is a tentative list)
Brown
Georgetown
UVA
Virginia Tech

Reason I want to apply: My school doesn’t really offer a lot of scientific opportunities or is as supportive as I would like, but it’s understandable since it’s mostly a commuter school.

I think you will get into UVA…
I got into UVA this year even if I am an international student.
I heard many George Mason students get into UVA…
but Brown and Georgetown…I am not sure…:(…

Georgetown and Brown are the reaches. You’d better attempt to raise that verbal score, and get some more ECs if you wish to be competitive in those places.

I just wanted to add my highest scores individually for the SAT is Math 700, Verbal 620, and Writing 600

I also am wondering if anyone knows the competitiveness of the schools I would be applying to for bio major (ie georgetown college, brown arts/sciences, etc.)

i tried to look on the school website for this information, but I didn’t get much out of it.
