Chances after boarding school for troubled teens

<p>Son went to teen boarding school after having difficulties in private HS. No disiplinary record or suspensions, etc. Will graduate in 12/08. Plan is to attend CC for spring semester and apply for fall 2009.</p>

<p>Stats:<br>
GPA unweighted: 3.4
SAT’s: Math 570, Reading, 570, Writing 560
Honors math and science in jr and sr. yr.

<p>EC’s - community service, peer leader, dorm leader, religious groups, drama</p>

<p>Very hard to know how they will view current school, even though life has been totally turned around, </p>

<p>Any suggestions on how to shine light on more of the positives and what schools would value this kind of student.</p>

<p>Looking mainly for east coast schools</p>

<p>Applied to Drexel for Engineering.</p>

<p>Also check into UMass (Amherst), Suny Buffalo, Rowan and Union (NY). They are all supposed to have good engineering programs. Best of luck to your son!</p>
