Chance me for wellelsey, W&M, emory, umich, uva, cmu, uc berkeley, and ones you think i qualify for

Will some 1 be kind enough to chance me?

You still need a hook–not sure what geographical location you are in but if you are a Michigan resident-probably yes to U mich (they take 50% overall and more than that instate)–assume you are female because of Wellesley–you would likely be accepted at Smith, Vassar, Skidmore, and maybe Bryn Mawr (if single sex school with consortia interests you)–Emory is iffy, uva unlikely unless you are VA resident–cmu depends on your major (harder for science and esp comp sci)–berkeley may be possible only if you are CA resident and same for W and M. Again, nowing your location would help. Female STEM major might be possible fit at Lehigh and Lafayette, Kenyon, Oberlin possible match (not conservatory but arts and sciences) maybe RPI–strongly doubt MIT. Safety schools include RIT, Clarkson, St Lawrence.

I think you qualify for all of the schools you’ve listed except for UC Berkeley, which is a reach. Your SAT scores are on the low side for Berkeley. Get over a 2150 and you’ll have a great chance!

CHance me?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1364128-chance-asian-sigh-female.html

thanks. im from the midwest. how is uva or emory not possible?

i want to major in pre-med or chemistry. female. do i stand a chance at vassar or wellesley

what kind of hook would I need? i am a nat’l medallist at hosa and nat’l qualifier at NHD… in sym orch at school. I will need good recs and write good essays then? what are my chances at WUSTL if i improve my SAT to 2200?

woulld someone be kind enough to give me their opinions instead of just looking? PLease.

A hook would be something like geographics, race, and others. Achievements won’t be a hook unfortunately.

The “research published” part of your info looks good and could become a very good college essay if you could write about any failures, then overcoming them and growing as a result.

UVa is VERY competitive out-of-state. I live in PA, and although I loved the campus, I may not apply because they seem to take a huge number of in-state as opposed to out-of-state. That said, 24% of students are still out-of-state there.

Vassar seems to be good for you. Good scores (maybe try to take the SATs once more?) and a high female percentage (58%) look in your favor. Emory also fits into this category I believe.

Idk what your math SAT score is, but make sure you can do well in classes if the SAT score isn’t that high. You’ll need it especially for chemistry and possibly some other classes that come along with pre-med.

CMU is probably unrealistic with what you have so far. The research looks good, but the SAT score may need to be higher to push you to the “yes” pile.

UC Berkeley is definitely a reach (SATs) and William and Mary also seems to be a good fit.

i am a first gen college graduate from the midwest. Does it hurt if I am asian?

humble and hard beginnings too for my family. We’re not the typical Asian families.

Can others please chance me? Please.

Please others chance me! please find it in your hearts to help me.

I do not think other than Berkeley being Asian will hurt you at the schools on your list! it is more the ivies that discriminate against Asians and some schools in CA! they never admit what they are doing but, it is safe to say they have a quota on Asians and bend over backwards for certain “minorities”

ok thnks!
any others? Please help

being asian doesnt really hurt, but it definitely wont help. dont worry about ethnicity.
