Chances and recommendations for a lazy smart kid?

<p>I have a bad GPA but average SATs. My unweighted GPA is 3.3 and my SATs are 2020 or 710 Reading, 550 Math, 760 Writing. I took the SATs in June of this year. I plan on taking the SATs in October and boosting up my math by at least 100 points.</p>

<p>APs: World History (3), Music Theory (3), US History (4), English and Comp (3)</p>

<p>Senior year schedule:</p>

<p>AP Euro History
Economics Honors
Integ. Math 3
Orchestra 4
Marine Science Honors
French 3 Honors
AP Literature </p>

<p>Extracurriculars:</p>

<p>Freshman year: Teen Court, Mock Trial (the team ending up dropping out of the competition, so I don’t really know where I stand on that), Art Club, Culinary Club</p>

<p>Sophomore year: Philharmonic Youth Symphonia, tried to start up a Gay Straight Alliance several times (as in, we had a few meetings before the club got lazy), All-County Honors Orchestra, Art Club, Chamber Orchestra </p>

<p>Junior year: Philharmonic Youth Symphonia, Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, All-County Honors Orchestra</p>

<p>Senior year: Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, volunteering at the Philharmonic, volunteering at the county library, volunteering at an animal sanctuary.</p>

<p>Admittedly, my record is a little lopsided. Vanderbilt is my dream school, but my reach is probably Florida State. I have no idea where else to consider. Please advise.</p>

<p>im in a similar boat. I know nothing about the south-east but would suggest schools on the west coast except for the UC’s & Stanford. Colorado U is also a decent fit.</p>

<p>Tulane, UMiami, Miami Ohio, a lot of OOS flagships would probably be good, i.e. Miami Ohio or Indiana, Penn State.</p>
