Hello all. Was looking for some help/advice.
Long story short: I’m currently serving overseas and going to finish up my military contract in March, after which I want to apply to NYU for fall of 2016 as a transfer. Before the military, I finished 2 years at Midwestern State, but because I had no idea what I wanted to do, I didn’t take it seriously and my GPA became pretty abysmal. Around 2.5-2.6. Pretty bad, I know. Honestly, I wish I could just restart as a freshman next year.
What I’m wondering now is whether my military service and admissions essays could still give me a chance at acceptance, as well as if improving my SAT scores to a much higher level would help me? Im also taking courses at while I’m deployed out here. If I ace these, will they help to balance out my old grades from Midwestern State?
