Chances and suggestions please...

<p>This is my list so far (please suggest schools as well, I'm very open to suggestions):</p>

<p>University of Florida (instate for me)
(maybe)Rice University
Emory
Cornell
(maybe)Middlebury
Amherst</p>

<p>My stats are: 3.9 gpa with AA from community college (through dual enrollment program- for high school I was homeschooled), secretary and president of Phi Theta Kappa chapter, other very impressive ec's.
1470 SAT (770 verbal, 700 math)
Terrible SAT II's (but I plan to retake them and they'll probably be pretty decent. I wish we could send the different types of SAT's independantly)
No community service
No academic awards
Little job experience</p>

<p>I'll be 19 for spring 06 which is when I plan to transfer. I'm strongly considering majoring in economics, but don't really have any career plans yet.</p>

<p>2) That is not good. Schools, especially Rice, want to accept students who have focus and understand what they want to do; this essentially feeds into one's reasons for wishing to transfer, and so forth.</p>

<p>Moreover, though your ECs may be "very impressive," we would need to see them in order to consider your chances more accurately, especially in the context of Rice.</p>

<p>Rice is difficult for spring time enrollment, as slots are limited; you may have better luck applying for Fall 2006.</p>

<p>NYU and Boston College are both excellent schools with Spring enrollment. I'm not sure how many..buuuut, they take them.</p>

<p>What made you change your mind about Emory? I don't think they take spring applications for transfers, but I'm really considering them for fall 06 if I don't get into Georgetown this year. I'm REALLY excited about possibly going!</p>
