Hi, everyone!
I’m a Senior-to-be and planning on applying to a number of UCs and Private Schools.

My grades dropped horribly in the second semester of junior year. In the first semester, I got a 4.5 (weighted), but got a 3.8 (weighted) that following semester. I’m just wondering how detrimental this is to my chances of getting into these colleges - particularly UCSD. I do have an explanation for it, but it’s not really something I’d like to discuss openly with just anyone.
Would they want to know why this happened? I’d be fine explaining myself - I’m just not sure if they’d actually be curious or concerned enough to question it.

Well anyway, thank you!
