<p>WORK EXPERIENCE
Paid: -Clerical work for Jazz Pharmaceuticals in Palo Alto. Read legal agreements and consolidated information, helped IT.
- Camp Counselor at the Nueva School for two weeks. An outdoor adventures camp that took trips to local beaches, and picked berries at local farms, Mrs. Marilyn Kimura (650) 348-2272.</p>
<p>Volunteer:
-Coached Volleyball for the Nueva Middle School three days a week for two months; approximately 10 hours each week<br>
-Volunteered at the National Brain Tumor Conference held in San Mateo. Supervised art projects and played games with children who have, or have had, brain tumors.
- Annually deliver and package food for Samaritan House, a local food bank.</p>
<p>Political:
- Part-time intern at Diane Feinsteins San Francisco office in the summer of 2004.
- San Mateo County Youth Commissioner for four years. A group of teens with goals to promote systematic change at a county level,
-Appointed to serve on the Drug and Alcohol Advisory Board of San Mateo County. Discuss the teen perspective concerning pressing drug and alcohol issues with a board of county providers, former addicts, probation officers.</p>
<p>OUTSIDE INTERESTS AND ACTIVITIES
Publications/ Photography: School:
- Photo editor for my schools paper in my junior and senior years. I am responsible for composition and placement of photos used with all articles that require pictures.
- Helped compile to Poetry/Prose magazine, Jabberwocky, at my school.
- Photographer for the school yearbook for two years. I covered many sports teams throughout the year. </p>
<p>Other:
- Santa Fe Photography Workshops in New Mexico. A weeklong black and white photography workshop that emphasizes composition and printing.<br>
-Took a three days class at Yosemite National Park to work on composition and other photography techniques.
Writing
-Creative Writing Class at Bates College. Emphasis on fiction and poetry writing.</p>
<p>Athletic: Volleyball:
- Captain of the Maccabi volleyball team from the Bay Area for two years. We placed third and fifth nationally.
-Participated on the school volleyball team freshman and sophomore year where I was an outside hitter and was a co-captain.
Track and Field:
-Participated on the Aragon High School Track and Field Team. Threw shot put and discus for two years, and was the second best female on the team during my sophomore year.</p>
<p>Student Government/Political Activity:
School:
- International Relations Club. Model United Nations Conferences. Security Council representing Chile.<br>
- President of the Recycling Club for 2 years. Maintains the recycling program at Aragon High School, and gives incentive for students to recycle.
- Senior Class Delegate, Junior Class Delegate, Sophomore Class Delegate to the Student Council. Raised money for dances, such as Prom, and tried to boost class spirit.
- One of 25 youth selected from throughout the state to participate in the Pilots to Policy Conference. Participated in, and led breakout sessions about issues facing youth in California. Met with District Attorney John Lockyer and Angela Glover Blackwell. </p>
<p>Additionally I have a really good essay about my abusive/drug addicted older sister an how that experience changed my high school experience. I have 3 fabulous recomendations from teachers, one of which is a Bowdoin graduate. </p>
