Chances at Bentley University, George Washington, Boston University, and Brandeis?

I’m a senior who’s gotten deferred to all of his early actions (Babson, Fordham, Tulane), so I’m scared if i would be accepted into my regulars. I have a at least 3.2 UW GPA, and a 3.38 weighted GPA. My freshman/sophomore grades were bad (around 3), but my grades rose, and I currently have a 4.2 GPA for my first senior quarter. I think I’ll get a 4 GPA for my senior first semester. My SAT is 2170 (630 reading, 770 math, 770 writing). I did JV track for 2 years, and did lots of volunteer work. I got 2 president’s volunteer service award for my volunteer orchestra, and other small volunteer work. I participated in many clubs and briefly interned at a political organization for a congress candidate. I know my stats are very unimpressive. What are my chances at these reach colleges? I’m applying as business (finance or accounting).

I also got 780 SAT math, and took AP statistics, AP US History, both of which I got a 3. I’m currently taking AP Environmental, AP Economics, and AP Literature.

GPA is a little low but sat score is in range. Is there any reason your grades were bad? Try to mention that to them. You have about a 50% shot. Might be a reach for BU though.

I was very lazy, but another reason is that I came from an art middle school with 60 people. Very relaxed and non-competitive. The high school I go to right now is one of the most competitive high schools in the county. 5 of my classmates already got accepted into ivies (Harvard, UPenn, Cornell, etc) early.

I agree your GPA is a bit low for the schools you are applying. Are you able to afford these schools? Your GPA is not one that would garner large amounts of merit aid.

If you are from MA, I would apply to a few safeties in the state system. Even a city school like Westfield, worcester, salem, etc.) The schools on your list look like reaches for you and you will need to cover your bases by applying to a safety school.

Good luck.
