Chances at Brown, NYU?

I am a California resident wondering my chances at Brown, NYU, UCLA, and Cal.

  • work part time at local fairgrounds
  • go to a class on applying Eastern Philosophy to my life every week ( 5 hrs per week)
    -taking martial arts classes.

Senior year I’m taking 5 AP’s.

So, what do you think of my chances?

good chance

I would say that Brown is a match, meaning your chances are average.
NYU seems like a match/safety with considerably higher admission chances than Brown.

By the way, I want to join the peace club. Is it for international peace(Iraq), or peace in the sense that everyone should be friendly and less frantic. Either way, I want to join. Honorary Member perhaps?

Thanks, mauiboy and duskstamper. The peace club was just something that made people aware of political issues from a liberal point of view, mauiboy. It provided information on current issues, i.e. the draft, Iraq, etc.

bump…please answer, need advice…

Hey if you like NYU and Brown you will really like Vassar as a matchl. Briown is a reach, the rest you are in.

Hmmm…interesting, slipper, I have actually been thinking about vassar. I have heard some bad things about Poughkipsie, though. I may end up applying there, we’ll see. Thanks.

Brown = Reach, Others = Great shot
Good Luck :)

Wonderboy,

Poughkipsie isnt that great, but honestly vassar is amazing so you really dont need to leave campus. Vassar has plenty going on (who wants to hang out with townies when you can hang out at Vassar anyway!), NYC is an hour away, and its good enough to get some shopping done.

brown- match
nyu- match

for nyu are you applying to CAS?

Brown is considerably more selective than NYU, too selective to be a match for anyone. So I’d say NYU match and Brown reach. Good chance for one or the other of UCB or UCLA.

Thanks everybody. More replies greatly appreciated…
