<p>African American female originally from Ghana, Legacy student- dad, both uncles, both cousins. 4.0 weighted 3.69 unweighted, heavy ap course load, I am going for national AP scholar 4s and 5 on 8 exams, I organized a fundraiser at my school raised about $800 for a hand washing station at San Diego elementary, in Nicaragua in which I worked over the summer. I am very involved (nhs, varsity track, etc). I am a competitive bodybuilder/bikini competitor (NPC,INBA), ran track all four years, work for company doing in home demos (direct sales) SAT: 1870 Sat II biology: 720 Sat II u.s history: 710. Haven’t gotten back ACT scores. My passion is fitness and business. Live in AZ (I know idk how I’d handle that winter). I would like to be a Kappa ( cousin was prez last year) and continue to achieve, and make the school a better place (maybe start a bodybuilding/fitness club). </p>

<p>Your UW GPA and test scores make you somewhat shaky. Ethnicity and legacy are pluses. Don’t mention the Kappa thing – makes you look shallow. Fine to say you’re interested in a greek system, nothing wrong with that but to specifically target one sorority makes you seem rather one dimensional and close minded (which will SINK you). </p>
<p>Maybe retake SAT? GL on your ACT results.</p>
<p>Thanks T26E4 i mentioned the Greek thing to give you guys back round haha not something id put on my resume or bring up at an interview. I’m just asking about my current standing as an applicant with my grades and test scores (taken the sat twice) </p>
<p>Is that your super-scored SAT? Do you have a class rank? Are you saying that you already have 4 or 5 on eight APs? If not, how many will you have by the end of junior year?</p>
<p>By the end of my senior year I am incoming senior, I’m not sure my class rank I go to a prestigious hs like Philips Exeter so a lot of girls do pretty well, I think I’m in the top 25% though…but I have no idea my rank 
I have taken 4 ap exams and am taking four more next year. But yeah math on the sat isn’t my strong point and my unweighted gpa is do to me not really focusing my first semester of freshman year (dad had really messy divorce) and I took all regular classes that year and had a few B’s first semester but my transcript shows tremendous improvements my cousin said he got in with a 1830 so idk </p>
<p>You will not be counted as African-American by some colleges. The trend nowadays in college admissions is to acknowledge the distinction between the U.S. descendants of folks historically restricted by segregation/ Jim Crow laws and contemporary immigrants from nations in Africa, or even from the Caribbean. All this may not impact upon your opportunity for admission, but be well advised nevertheless.</p>

<p>Truthfully, your scores are very weak for Dartmouth. Your ethnicity and legacy may save you but you may just get the wait list as a consolation for being a legacy. Barring a good ACT score, i suggest taking this summer to improve your test taking abilities.</p>
<p>Yeah the test are really hard for me…got like a 26 my first ACT, taking both over again in the fall, I have more EC than I listed though…a lot more, but true my score is my biggest concern…what should I do?</p>
