<p>I’d say you’re almost guaranteed considering you went to USAMO. My friend, a math genius, got into MIT, Caltech, and all these other places with a 3.1 GPA and USAMO. I’m not sure if people on these boards know just how strong USAMO is…considering I doubt anyone at Dartmouth is really that talented at math.</p>
<p>I would say you’re in the running, but need to have some kind of distinctive essay or other unique quality or else you probably won’t get in. I had a class rank of 3/280, 1480 SAT, arguably better ECs (more on the sports, student govt side) and I was W/L. Probably over 50% of the candidates are like this, and they only choose 15%; so the odds are decidedly against you. Apply ED if you can as the acceptance rate is ~32% vs 13% in the RD round.</p>
