Chances at Fordham

Fordham is definitely my number one choice right now. I’m also interested in University of Pittsburgh, St. John’s University (NY), and Temple University. Fordham is the only school where I am worried about getting accepted.

White, female, junior, out of state
Around 92 GPA (3.68, which according to collegeboard is the Fordham average)
Ranked 52nd in class out of 900+ in class (as of the end of sophomore year)
PSAT (will be taking SATs for the first time in March)- CR:56, M:48, W:61 total:165
Took AP Government and Politics (although received low test score), will be taking AP English and AP European History senior year
Took Honors English 10, Honors American Literature, Honors American History, Honors German 3… at my school honors classes are not offered freshman year
Extra Cirriculars: marching band (section leader), concert band, wind ensemble, orchestra, jazz ensemble, tech crew (paint charge), tech crew staff (paid position by school district during school year and summer), Cappies critic team, Royal Orientation Corps, German club, German tutoring, private flute lessons, teaching flute, and technical directing at a middle school

I would most likely apply to the Rose Hill campus for something in the liberal arts. What do you think my chances are?

Rank and courseload are strong, but your SAT score needs to be higher than your what your PSAT scores have reflected. Don’t worry though, I got a 160 (1600) total on the PSAT’s and ended up getting over a 1900 on the actual SAT. Otherwise I would say you have a great chance, keep up your Junior year grades and prep for the real SAT and you should be a allright.

I think you are on the right track. Fordham is a private school so I don’t think it matters that you are out of state. I agree that if you can get your SAT scores higher and you continue to get good grades then you have a great chance!

Good luck!

just get a 1900+ on SAT and u shud be in, dont get any C’s and your fine.

lol yeah PSATs mean nothing

sophomore PSAT i got a 136
junior PSAT i got a 178
senior SAT i got a 2120.

as long as you get above a 1250/1600 i think you have a good shot.

thank you for the responses :-)
