Chances at getting into top schools? (Ivies, Stanford, UChicago, etc.)

Caucasian, male, international student.

GPA: 4.0
SAT: 1540
Scored 114 on the TOEFL, but I’m not sure that matters

Played Violin for 12 years, I do some programming, and took a course in sophomore year, I participated in a 2 year nationwide talent program, and a one year research program, I’ve done math olympiad 4 years in a row, was in environmental club all of high school, did a week long internship program at a technical university, and I’m also in mensa, but I don’t know if that matters.

Summer activities: Advanced space academy, a week long math camp, Harvard pre college program.

Intended major: Math or physics

I would say at best your chances are no greater than 15% at getting into any of these schools, which by definition isn’t that great of a chance.

To have a good shot at these schools you identify you need a hook, URM, geodiversity, recruited athlete, first gen, immigrant from a desired country, etc.

Well, I live in Copenhagen, and my parents are both immigrants, would that be considered a hook?

Like stated above, at your level everyone’s competitive. Therefore, Essays, Recs, and ECs are the best way to stand out. If one is a clear #1 choice for you and you can afford it, then do ED. I wish u the best of luck!!
