So with my stats is it at all possible to get in
Really concerned about this

I had a stress fracture on my knee and had to stay out da pool for 6 months since january…so I dunno if im in good enough shape to swim with the big boys in USA but… anyways

come on guys i ned some help pleeeeeeessssssseeeee

I think you are competitive.

i agree. emphasize the swimming.

there is an essay topic that asks u to describe the activity that has most meaning in ur life. pre wrote 2 essays for this topic…1 about swimming and one about my involvement in the junior jaycees a group that helps orphan children they are both well written but i thought i would put the one about the jaycees since it really was very close top my hurt. what do u guys think an adcom would prefer to hear about??

oh yeah plus i am a URM

Leadership looks good, and academic stats look pretty good. Your overall chance looks good- just make that essay very good!

i’m sure you’ve heard this before…but don’t go by what you think they “would prefer”…just pick the one you feel more strongly about…that is bound to be better!

wow…1:07 is national champ’s time in trinidad, I had a friend that didn’t make it past sectionals with 1:08 :-P. Anyways, you seem competitive, URM helps, I’m sure, as well.

But still…not to belittle you, that’s a great time, I was down to 1:11 sophomore year, took last year off, and first race of the season had a 1:15.37…blah, but not too bad for only 4-5 days of practice and almost two years taken off :stuck_out_tongue: .

thats in the 13-14 age group werd. but my times have really dropped since my injury I’m not even sure that i can do ur 1:15.

werd good to see another swimmer on CC.

Any athletes applying to harvard

o well any more opinions

Noooooo… don’t bump your thread up anymore; it makes me depressed to see it. You have a great chance, and you’ll probably be accepted on Tuesday. Just don’t bump it up anymore! Please; do it so that I don’t go insane this weekend!

sorry college person im nervous tooo lol even though im RD which makes me more nervous

Uhm, I don’t see why you can’t include both essays. I’m applying to Harvard as a recruited athlete–I did my main essay and then submitted an additional essay on my sport.

good idea thats wat i did…lol

“DAMN GUYs my heart goes out to all those who didnt getin into dartmouth, don’t worry I’m sure there is a lil community college that wants you”

This could be your future dorm-mate!? Is this a “Harvard-Man?”

Let the Adcoms decide.

Kerron…that was not nice. You ought to post a brief and heartfelt apology over there. If nothing else, let karma be your guide.
