Chances at Ivy Leagues

Hello Everyone!

What are my chances at ivy league schools?

Freshman Year GPA - 4.08
Sophomore Year GPA - 4.5

PSAT Score - 1460
Sat Predicted Score - 1500’s

Amazing extracurriculars including intel isef finalist, and leader of many clubs in my school.

Tell me if you need anything else?

Something like 80% of the applicants at Ivy League schools have stats very similar to yours. Look at the percentage of applicants who are admitted at each Ivy League schools, divide by 0.8 and that is a pretty good estimate of your chances.

By the way, unweighted GPA can’t be over 4 where we live, and so I am assuming that yours is weighted. The way that it varies from school to school is great enough that it is very difficult to interpret it without more information.

Typical for Ivy league applicant. Maybe you’ll make it into Cornell, or any of the other “lower tier” Ivies.

You don’t have enough information for us to gauge your chances. I mean, from your stats, it seems like you’re only a sophomore. However, being an Intel ISEF Finalist is already an amazing feat you’ve accomplished.

Nevertheless, like the posters have said above, apart from Intel ISEF, your stats are very typical for an Ivy League applicant. Also, I’m just curious, what clubs do you lead?

Moreover, If a 1460 is your sophomore PSAT, then that’s very good, but if it’s your junior year PSAT, then it’s not competitive for Ivy League schools (1500+ would be better). But you can make up for that by getting a great SAT score.

Additionally, you also need great teacher/counselor recs and an amazing personal essay. Although Intel ISEF helps a lot, if you are a robot or someone with a one-dimensional personality or someone who doesn’t really interact with teachers, then I don’t think many top schools would accept you.

I’d appreciate it if you could chance me back! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/2000649-chance-me-low-rank-common-ecs-cornell-harvard-wharton-etc.html#latest
