XC time is 21:22 for a 5k
(For my junior year…I was injured all or junior and senior year with a torn hamstring, hip flexor, quad, and hammy…not fun :(

I’m hoping to run xc in college—what about you?

Ouch…that really sucks happy. I know how debilitating running injuries can be, utterly destroys the season.
I’m def running in college as well!
XC–17:42 for 5k
10:47 for 2 mile
4:55 for mile
I looovve running and can’t wait to do it in college! What state are you from happyxcrunner?
You’re a decathlete, Prospect? That’s really cool. But why do you want to stop?

I like track and all, and I’m a ‘solid’ athlete (i can give a good performance in many events, but i don’t stand out in anything), but I mainly don’t want to continue perhaps because I …i just spent a few minutes typing different answers here and I can’t really come up with one. I just think it was fun while I did it, and although i’ll definitly run in the future, it just won’t be competitively. I think I’m interested in checking out volleyball…

What are my chances? For grades 10, 11, and 12, my gpa is about 3.3. However, I have solid SAT scores (1480, 800 math iic, 770 physics, 720 writing). Will my gpa kill my chances?

I don’t know if this matters much, but I’m male and from the U.S.

nsdlevin, I think a 3.3 is right on the edge. Also, it depends on the program you applied for at McGill
a lot
. For example, last year Electrical Engr required an A- but Chem Engr required a B+. The exact GPA for each program is determined from the applicant pool for that year. Here’s is where I’m getting this information:

Also, you can research how applicants from your HS faired in admissions to any school (incl McGill) from information in your Guidance Dept. Here are a couple of HS’s that have this information on line and had applicants to McGill:

Thanks for the post and the link to the cutoffs, it was very helpful and I really appreciate it. However, I have another question:

I’m applying to Management and Science. On the cutoffs page, it says that I need a B+ or higher in every math class for management. However, I got a B- in geometry in 10th grade and have a B- in AP BC Calculus this year. Are they very strict about the requirement of a B+ in all math classes, or will they overlook it since I got an 800 on both the SAT I and II in math?

I ran a 18:09 for 5 K the second meet then got injured and my times went up
Sucks
But I’m not a runner really, I just did XC to stay in shape.
Best mile:…hmm, well my best first mile for a 3 mile race was 5:20, so maybe around 5?
