Going in to study engineering
ACT: 29, 34 math
GPA:3.45
Course load: 7 APs, 11 Honors. Yeah… most possible I would go in starting with 28 credits.
In state
very competitive high school, top 5 in the state.
Applied on 10/31, everything in by then.

What do you think? My friends heard in a couple of weeks or less and I haven’t heard anything yet… I mean its not like I got caught sleeping with the dean’s daughter why haven’t I heard back?

Does it say online whether or not a decision has been made? It’s a VERY busy time for them right now.

You look fine for admissions. However, if you start with 28 credits, that would mean you start as a sophomore. Be VERY CAREFUL when you get your financial aid package because of this (assuming you are accepted). I too started with around 30 credits (as a first-year because of APs) and my financial aid package was all screwed up and didn’t get resolved until the end of October. Look especially for the ACG and see if they gave you a freshmen grant or a sophomore grant. If you start as a sophomore using ONLY AP credits then you won’t get the freshman ACG OR the sophomore ACG. You are required to get a 3.0 or higher in your freshmen classes to get the sophomore ACG and the only way to avoid this is to take a college class before starting at MSU. Take a community college class in the spring while still in high school. Just a warning because it was a really long, stressful process to try to get money.

Sorry for the long rant lol.

I never would have known that could be a problem thanks alot!

No it does not say they’ve made a decision, all it says is that my stuff is being processed but all has been recieved

Then give it a bit more time. If a decision hasn’t been made by December 17th, you may want to call and ask but I honestly wouldn’t worry about it.

Dude don’t worry about it. You’ll be fine. I had a 26 ACT, 3.75 GPA, only a couple of APs. Although I was captain of 2 Varsity sports, I doubt they really care about that. Your schedule looks very strong. I was accepted within about 2 weeks after applying towards the end of October. I say you’re in. But I’m still waiting on my U of M decision
i can smell the deferral in the mail.

hey everyone still no word, anyone else in the same situation?

Your stats are definitely strong, but they still might wait to give you an offer of admission after you send them a 1st semester grade report? I’d call them and ask at this point (if you haven’t already)
