buddy, ur verbal score is going to Kill u for many of these places
Send your ACT score as well, i don’t know your breakdown, but maybe it can make up for your verbal.

i really don’t think ur gonna get into Duke or UPenn or Brown
Cornell/Gtown/JHU/Tufts will be reallly tough as well

I says you will get into NYU, BC, Bates, and Colgate.

I was looking at your stats and they have resemblance to my stats. 3.8 UW, 9 APs (mostly 3s & 4s), SAT 2080 (740 M, 700 W, 640 V), SAT II (Math IIC 720, US Hist. 710, Physics 650), ACT 29. Essays: Excellent and the other stuff was good. I was accepted to Wharton at UPenn. So, you have a shot at Penn. Don’t focus too much on the scores. As long as your essays express your undying desire to attend Penn, you have as good of a shot as anyone else. I’m not the one to give chances and predict. But, just hope for the best.

yea man that verbal kills me
my question is whether my amazing essay, 700 on writing section and 4 on AP english language (plus a 98 in the course) will make adcoms think that im not necerarily bad at english. or is my sat score going to screw me over

Well, I got a 2 on the AP English Language Test and an A in the course. So they won’t think you have the worst writing skills in the world. I was at an Penn information session and the Regional Admissions Officer said that test scores are not weighted too much because they know that it was just one morning/afternoon (many variables abound). So, don’t worry too much. Just relax.
