Chances at Northwestern, Boston College and Georgetown

Hi everyone,

I’m a junior at a French-American school in the US (I’m fluent in French and English).
I don’t know my GPA but i only have A+ during my whole high school life except one A in 10th grade.
I currently have 2110 on the SAT (690 in math, 690 in reading and 730 in writing) but I plan on taking them again in October.
I’ve taken 2 subject tests so far Maths 1 (730) and French (800) and I’m taking literature in June.
My school doesn’t offer APs but I take almost every elective possible such as Latin and additional science classes (I’m in an economic track for the French system with OIB).
Overall, my classes and transcript are rigorous.
In terms of extra curriculars:
I’m a certified rescue scuba diver (therefore CPR certified) and I have my specialties to become a master diver once I officially log 50 dives.
I’m the editor in chief for the school newspaper
I play Varsity rugby (I have been playing since 7th grade, and on varsity since 9th)
I play JV basketball (in senior year I will be on varsity)
I’m a team member of the soup kitchen (Thanksgiving luncheon)
I’m a team member of Midnight Run (a school group that gets clothes and food for the homeless), but I took a gap year in 11th grade to incorporate soup kitchen as well, but I’m being part of it again in 12th.
I founded my own association where I hold events with a local high school to help the students learn french.
I’m the head of fundraising for the Habitat for Humanity club at school.
I tutored an 8th grader in 10th grade.
During the summer, I had an internship in communications for 3 weeks at PBS
I’ve had high honors or highest honors every year of high school so far.

What do you think are my chances for Northwestern (I’m hoping to apply ED), Boston College and Georgetown?

Not to sure because of your school’s unusual grading system and lack of APs and such, but if you’ve gotten all As and taken a rigorous course schedule you should be fine for Northwestern. Your SAT could maybe be a little higher but for ED with your grades it should be more than fine. You have ok ECs also so I can’t see that being a problem either. Just do well on the Why NU essay and you should have really good odds. Good luck!

Definitely apply ED to NU if you want to go. I believe they accept more than half of the class in ED. I would say it’s a still a low-mid reach though.
