<p>im a male senior from one of top 2 or 3 public high schools in MA; weighted gpa 4.4 (around 6% in a class of 400 - our school doesnt really do ranks anymore)</p>

Writing: 800
BioE: 750 (freshman year)

BC Calc: 5
US History: 5
AP Chem: 5
taking euro history, spanish AP, english lit AP as well, should get all 5’s, as well as multivariable calc independent study; no AP option for physics or I would take it</p>

<p>No one really knows about Harvard, Columbia and Penn, or MIT, but I would say you will get into Brown and Wash U</p>

<p>I would say you have a very good shot at Wash U and Brown, Penn and Columbia are possible but you will need some luck, and MIT and Harvard are certainly reaches, but the possibility definitely exists. Good luck!</p>

<p>I think Brown is pretty much as difficult or more so than Penn. At this level, its sort of a crapshoot. I got into Columbia and not Brown, I know similar things happening all the time. You are in at WUSTL, likely at at least one of Brown/ Columbia/ Penn, decent chance at MIT/ Harvard.</p>

<p>Well, with Penn, it depends on what college you are applying to within Penn. Wharton, CAS? OR SEAS? Wharton is a crapshoot for everyone. College and SEAS are easier.</p>

wustl - 100% chance, they’ve got you
harvard - good chance</p>

<p>i must say that your SAT IIs were excellent. but what’s your major? Harvard may not be the place for you - try MIT, if you love math and are into science.</p>

<p>You are statistically in the top quartile everywhere except Harvard and MIT, but you should be mindful that the other schools in your list, particularly Brown and Wash U, will look at you much more favorably if they believe that they are your first choice.</p>

<p>if im applying as a chem engineering major everywhere, would something like spanish really help me? (ive placed 2nd, 2nd, and 10th in the Natl Spanish exam in MA the last 3 years, and had the highest average in spanish last year)</p>

<p>well, i’m not sure, but if you have the space to add the awards to your resume, then go ahead and do so. i think it shows that you are diverse and good at many things. as long as you emphasize the chemical engineering part and don’t have the spanish stuff overpower it because that might confuse the admissions people.</p>
