Chances at SFS as opposed to College?

I had posted my stats up here before just asking about admission. The more I narrow my search though, I think I want to major in International Relations. I realize that Georgetown is a stretch, but would my chances of getting in be even harder if I applied to SFS? Any feedback on admission or about SFS is appreciated. Here are my stats:

Background: Cuban/Italian

Academics/SATS:

 • Unweighted GPA: 3.8, Weighted GPA: 4.0
 • All honors classes along with AP US 2
 • Next year: Gov., Spanish V, AP Eng, AP Euro, AP Calc.
 • SAT: Math-680, Verbal-670, Writing-700

EC’s:

 • Guitarist in jazz band as well as indie band which released a full-length cd and has played countless benefit/charity events
 • Junior Class President (Hopefully Senior too)
 • Mock Trial (2 years), one of which as a lawyer
 • Debate/Model Congress (3 years)
 • Drama/Theatre (3 years)

Awards:

 • National Honor Society
 • Modern Music Masters (Tri-M)

Community Service:

 • Young Authors
 • Summer Bible School Volunteer
 • Benefits/Charity events with the band

I’m also curious

Well being class President well definitely help. However, Gtown SFS is definitely a reach for you. Your SATs will be in the lower 25%. What’s your class rank? I don’t mean to scare you, but someone on this board said that 40% of the applicants accepted to SFS were ranked 1, 2, or 3 in their class.

aha! so it is true that sfs is the hardest to get into, including gtown!

sorry. somebody mentioned in the other post that gtown was harder to get into than sfs =]

You might as well apply and let the admissions committee decide. Also, apply to the school you want to go to, not whichever you think is “easier.”
