I know it’s long and boring, but anyone who has the time/energy to read this, please comment, and make some suggestions to improve my college app profile!

And one last thing; I’m not a genius/super asian workaholic with no life (I did just spend my time typing this up, but I at least care about other things aside from schoolwork), so don’t suggest ridiculous things like taking 8 AP classes my senior year, or getting a 2400 on my SATs. Thanks!

I think you could potentially have a winning application, except for those SAT scores. Since you’re retaking the SAT, I would shoot for 2200. Since you’re in Alaska, that is a major boost, since geographic diversity is a factor.

Your SATs…you need to boost the math and critical reading for sure. I heard that Gtown doesn’t look at Writing, but 700 might improve you chances. For MSB you need to have strong math, and pretty strong critical reading. I’m pretty sure SFS is the same way, probably with higher scores for SFS.

hey i wish you the best of luck! i wish i could chance you but im just as lost in all of this:)
just a word of sincere advice, maybe nitpicky but you never know with admissions people
we have friend on the admissions board at usc (fairly competitive private california school, which im not applying to  ) and he said to be careful about listing who’s who as an award just becuase they send it to so many people (not that you arn’t a worthy recipient of acalade) and somtimes it comes off as paying for an extra line on your resume.
i think its important to take everything with a grain of salt, but just wanted to pass along his “words of wisdom”
i trully wish you well and hope i will see you in two years in DC!

G-Town doesn’t look at writing. Your 1290 is at the bottom 25%, but 33 ACT is in the upper half.

thanks for all the suggestions! i totally agree/understand about the who’s who thing, I highly doubt i’ll be putting that on a list of any academic achievements for college apps later. I just listed every single thing that I could remember from my resume, good or not :).
