Volunteering:

30+ hours at local Animal Lodge

In addition to this, Im spending a month this summer interning a general surgeon as well as participating in a 2-week internship program at a hospital.

I also plan to work alongside a biology professor doing a research project on animal behavior for the summer.

As of right now i plan to apply to
-Clemson University
-University of South Carolina
-University of Florida
-Furman University
-L.S.U
-Alabama

What do you think my chances are as far as match, reach , etc.

If you apply to those on your list I think you will get into most if not all. I would add a few more reaches to be frank. Also, try volunteering somewhere over the summer, because right now your volunteer hours are less than impressive. Try volunteering at one place and logging a total of 100 hours (the animal lodge might be a good place, and this will distinguish you as an applicant).

In everywhere, add UNC, Duke, and maybe UVA for reaches (if you only want southeast).

University of Florida is probably the only school on that list that you aren’t a lock at.

You might consider applying to UNC, as Titan said, as it is quite reputable, or if you are willing to leave the southeast give UMich a shot.

Yeah, I agree with what everyone’s said. UGA has a pretty reputable honors program, and UNC is obviously a really good school. You could even look at Vandy as one of your reaches (or UVA/Duke like people have said, depends on how far south you want).

And your ACT score should get you a full ride + laptop + stipend at Bama if you apply early enough (December 1 is the deadline, I think) so if you want to go to a pretty good, well-funded honors program and make money doing it, that’s an option. I know a lot of kids going there (half my graduating class), including a couple who turned down Ivies for a full ride at UA honors.

Also, depending on what you want to do, check out Auburn - it’s still a public school, so it’s cheaper, you could definitely get in with those scores, and its vet/pre-vet program is one of the top in the country, if you’re looking to do something like that with animals.

Briefingsworth is right about UA. Also, if you are thinking of going into medicine their school of medicine is pretty well ranked and growing in research and NIH funding, and has a pretty good MSTP program.
