<p>“Southern Ivies”? Not… What is your unweighted GPA?</p>

<p>I’m not sure why the term “Southern Ivy” is confusing, as it is a recognized phrase for top schools in the region.
And my unweighted GPA is 3.67 with 7 APs taken (mostly histories).</p>

<p>University of Virginia is considered a Public Ivy, but it’s in the south so okay.
Washington & Lee isn’t really a Southern Ivy. It’s good, but not that good.
University of North Carolina see UVA.
William & Mary is, I guess.
Davidson is one.
Emory is, I guess.
Rice is THE best Southern University in my mind, in terms of academics.
Washington University – St. Louis isn’t really in the South.
Georgetown is one.
University of Georgia is not. I’m applying, and I like it, but it’s not even a Public Ivy.
University of Texas see UGA.
Wake Forest is pretty good, but not THAT good.</p>

<p>I just wanted to point out that Southern Ivy doesn’t really describe a lot of these.</p>

<p>That being said you have as good a chance as most at the top ones, and a good chance at all of the publics.</p>

<p>Thanks for the response and positive feedback Crimsonstained7. You’re right, some of these schools would not be classafied as “Southern Ivies.” I guess I just used the term to title the thread in order to get CC users to look at it.</p>

<p>I think you really have a good chance. My friends just got offer from wustl with SAT2080 and another got offer from Rice with super score 2040. And as far as I know, they have much worse EC than yours and didn’t take AP. As for Emory, I don’t think it is THAT good since many apply it with low score and get in with the ED advantage. And I think Georgetown is really a good choice if you want to practice law and relying its location advantage, there are a lot of opportunities.</p>
