chances at southern schools & LACs

<p>Hey I am looking at mainly southern schools, but also some other random LACs and small schools up north.</p>

<p>My SAT Scores.

  • math - 630 (hopefully will go up to 650+ next time I take it)
  • cr - 730</p>

<p>GPA - approx. 3.0 unweighted at a very competitive public high school, in the top 20 public high schools for percent of students with **passing **AP grades.
School does not rank.</p>

<p>Classes:
Fresh: honors english
Soph: honors english, AP euro
Junior: honors english, AP euro, AP pysch
Senior: AP gov, AP studio art, AP lit, AP enviornmental</p>

<p>EC -
*President/Co-founder of Fashion Club (2 years VP, 2 years P)
*Organized and hosted four annual fashion shows, raising $10,000 for various charities

  • three years of Model United Nations (won 4 awards, including best delegate in a committee of about 200)
  • two years in Diversity Club and Yearbook
    *volunteer 200+ hours coaching youth cheerleading, lacrosse, volleyball
    *volunteer camp counselor and a local church camp for 3 years
    *volunteer at a weekly tutoring center for refugees
    *have been commissioned for various community/school design opportunities like play posters, concert programs, basketball programs etc.</p>

<p>race - caucasian, US citizen</p>

<p>I am interested in schools with strong political science, english or graphic design programs.</p>

<p>thats quite a list. Your GPA is a little low. But your SATs are very good.</p>

<p>I think you’re not going to find many schools that are good at both graohic design and poli sci so you need to choose between the two.</p>

<p>Your activities, grades, SATs and school choices are so scattered that its hard to read.</p>

<p>I would work on narrowing it down some before you will get some chances</p>

<p>by the way, what “refugees” are you tutoring?</p>

I never expected to find a school with strong graphics and polisci, I am gonna choose based on the schools I get into.</p>

<p>I just recalculated my GPA and it’s a 3.3 unweighted, not a 3.0!
