I go to a very competitive boarding school in New England… so I am not near the top of the class, I’d say I’m in the top third. (Average SAT is a 1400 as this highschool)

I’ve taken Bio AP, Spanish AP, Chem AP, Enviromental Science AP, and Calc BC so I have a pretty hefty schedule.

I was accepted into this school in 11th grade, which is pretty rare… there are only 18 new students in 11th grade which is like a 14% acceptance rate. I had a good interview and I think they thought I was better at sports than I really am… oh well. I was elected vice-president of the same school the same year, which was a pretty big feat apparently, 24 kids ran, I got 2nd place in elections, something that doesn’t really happen at this school for new 10th graders, and has never happened for a new 11th grader.

Other ECs

Acapella Group, featured on a national CD
Varsity Soccer (1 year)
Built a small wind turbine on campus
NOLS Honor Graduate
I hold a private pilot license
Intern for Deval Patrick Campaign
There’s probably somethign else I’m forgetting, but it’s 2 in the morning

My GPA wont really mean anything to you , as we use a 6.0 scale and the school is abnormally competive (1/3 goes to an ivy, we had 18 at Harvard this year) but I’m probably in the top 40-35%. But those 1/3 ivy admissions doesn’t really mean anything, as most of them are ridiculous students (top 10% with 2300 SATs) or recruited athletes or both. I was hoping being elected the first VP ever as a new 11th grader in schools history would help, especially with undergrad business schools, as I would imagine they put a premium on personal/leadership ability. Just from this, how am I looking?
